Bali , Singapore ( Memories from Late November , 2013 )

Boo and I traveled to Thailand, BALI and Singapore in November, when he came back to HongKong for his thanks giving holiday.

I really , really appreciated him coming back whenever possible. Flight ticket is certainly expensive from New York to Hong Kong, but money is never his priority.

When asked why he came back, he just beamed and said ” I come back for my wife.” The way he treasure our time together just constantly make me warm.

We got married 2.5 years ago in NY, and even though we live so far away, we are still able to meet each other every 2-4 months .Now that’s very important for Long Distance relationship. It’s obviously a very good (almost luxury) basis considering how far we are apart from each other , and I have to thank him for his persistence .He could have spent his money with friends for fun , eating something fancier…

Speaking of the trip in November, BALI blew me away on every aspects! I have always wanted to go to Bali, but always ended up going to Phuket .

I used to think they are similar , hell no I was so wrong!

Bali definitely surpassed Thailand in my mind.

Her cultural side , the spiritual side. the artistic side in  Ubud in particular are so special and different to other Asian places I have been to.

Arrival :

I picked Ayung Resort Ubud.

I was so glad I picked this resort. It is relatively new but received rave reviews on the internet. Now this

People say Ubud can be  boring, but I am glad I went . I love the quiet , artistic side.

Bali is way more Romantic than other resort places in southeast asia we have been to. I will never forget the sunset we saw at SAMAYA resort , Saminyak .

Words can’t describe how beautiful the sky and the beach are.

We had tea time there, and what a the perfect timing we picked.

We saw the perfect transformation of the sky !

Image

It was pretty amazing already. Can it get better?

Yes.

The view from our dining table:

I have never seen a sky as beautiful , with these sophisticated shades from blue  to purple, I used a phone camera, no edit, and it’s like I have edited the color.

I thought I have seen the Rocky Mountains,  the so very sophisticated European buildings, the heavy beautiful snow at Quebec City, and the Maldives W-O-W ocean and sky m sharks next to me swimming ! (you cant beat that, can you?) , nothing could blow me away easily, but the romantic beaches at BALI  made me absolutely completely speechless ! It was one of the highlights of our trip.

Not only that, Balinese massage is by far the best massage I have ever received. I used to think the Thailand ones are pretty good, but Balinese, especially the four hands one I received on the last day of the Bali trip, was STUNNING ! I felt like I lost 10 pounds of stress and pain when I walked out of that massage place. The 4 hands by 2 therapists were totally in sync and they know exactly how to do their work.

HIGHLIGHT No.2 :

Before I left, I went to SURF in BALI for the 1st time in my life.

Image

In your early 30s, Nothing excites you as much as it did in your 20s. Thats why I always insist try everything once. Find something you have never done before and challenge it, no matter what age you are at.

I know surfing can be dangerous, and hell did I experienced that. Boo tried to stop me from day 1 in Bali, but he has a soft heart. 🙂

On our last day in Bali,  he let me do it!

First time surfing was a painful experience, but exciting. I was glad i tried. and on a few attempts I did nail it! Ha!

If I were to pick a place for the family trip with my parents, I would definitely pick Bali.(It has been on my bucket list for some time;. A family trip all on me, a treat for them. Sadly as of 2014 March I am still slowly rebuilding my business, and I cannot afford that at the moment. I will need to buy a house for myself first with my savings now, and then that. )

BONUS : We had a stop over in Singapore, and we managed to visit 5E! I love her so much. She’s a very funny, sweet, successful and classy woman.

Most qualities she has, I simply can’t find that in her sister.

We only stayed in Singapore for overnight, and a few hours next day, but she managed to guide us to the Marina Bay sands, and the lion sculpture, bringing us numerous laughters by having jokes with the Taxi Driver.(Now Singapore has one of the best Taxi service in the world. BENZ as taxi? drivers in suits! Thats as professional as Japan. When will Hong Kong learn something? I have countless encounters with rude and ignorant taxi drivers in Hong Kong! )

BONUS X 2 We had a little luxury this time travelling by Business class by Singapore and Thai airlines, thanks to Boo redeeming his mileage for us. It was a good experience. I have never been upgraded to business, and I have never wanted to waste my hard earned money for just a larger seat. I was glad mileage covered these 3 trips . I had a very good experience by taking business class especially by Singapore airline. The food was awesome, and the attendant remembered our names and were always attentive.
